In this role, you take technical ownership of AI components and services in our practice system. You lead the design, build, and improvement of AI-powered features, making sure they work well, follow rules, and fit smoothly into clinical and office tasks.

• Own the full lifecycle of AI services, from design and build to operation and improvement
• Design and build scalable AI systems that work with our existing backend
• Lead development of speech-to-text and NLP/LLM pipelines for extracting, structuring, summarizing, and generating domain-specific content
• Define and set up prompting strategies, orchestration flows, validation steps, and backup plans for LLM-based systems
• Set up human-in-the-loop patterns, review steps, and quality checks for clinical AI outputs
• Define and use standards for model evaluation, monitoring, and tracking (accuracy, drift, speed, cost)
• Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance in all AI solutions
• Support and guide AI-assisted data migration and import processes
• Work closely with product management, software, data teams, and experts
• Give technical help and mentor other engineers on AI topics
• Contribute to AI platform basics, reusable parts, and engineering best practices

This is a hands-on senior engineering role with technical ownership. You shape implementation patterns, quality standards, and technical direction within an agreed framework.

• Several years of experience as an AI Engineer, Senior ML Engineer, or Applied AI Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with NLP, speech processing, and LLM-based systems in production
• Solid software engineering background (APIs, distributed systems, production deployments)
• Experience designing scalable and reliable AI services
• Proven ability in model evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance, ideally in regulated environments
• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership
• Very good English skills (German or French is a plus)

• Nice to have: Experience in healthcare or clinical systems
• Familiarity with clinical documentation standards (e.g. SOAP)
• Knowledge of medical terms, billing, or tariff systems
• Experience with human-centered or assistive AI systems
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
