You help shape and improve our on-premises infrastructure. You make sure our platforms are stable, secure, and ready for the future. You work with teams to update systems step-by-step, using new tools and automation where they fit best. You focus on making things easier and safer for everyone who uses our platforms.

• Introduce and run Kubernetes-based workloads, connecting them with our current on-prem infrastructure and processes.
• Modernize the platform step-by-step, moving services toward containerized and declarative methods without disrupting running systems.
• Design and support hybrid models, where both old VM-based services and Kubernetes workloads work together smoothly.
• Operate, maintain, and update on-premises infrastructure and platforms for availability, security, and performance.
• Handle daily operations: troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and managing capacity for Tomcat/Apache apps, PostgreSQL, and related services.
• Manage and improve configuration with Puppet and Ansible for safe, clear, and auditable system changes.
• Operate and support Ceph storage, watching capacity, performance, and fixing issues.
• Design, build, and run internal platforms and shared services for deploying and running applications on both VMs and newer systems.
• Support and carry out application releases with both manual and automated steps, always working to improve reliability and repeatability.
• Build and keep automation and tools (mainly in Python) to cut manual work and make operations consistent.
• Set up and run monitoring, alerts, and incident response using Zabbix and other tools.
• Join the on-call rotation (including weekends), handle incidents, find root causes, and help fix problems.
• Spot and address risks and ways to improve across apps, databases, storage, and CI/CD tools.
• Make sure security, compliance, and audit needs (like ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) are part of daily work and system setups.
• Keep clear documentation, runbooks, and release guides to support daily tasks and on-call needs.
• Review tools and automation with a practical, on-prem-first view, suggesting changes for better stability, security, and upkeep.

• You speak and write English fluently; German skills are a plus.
• You have practical experience with Kubernetes, especially introducing and running it in on-prem environments with current platforms.
• You use Terraform for infrastructure-as-code to manage shared services and infrastructure in a controlled way.
• You have hands-on experience running on-prem Linux infrastructure in production, making sure systems are up, fast, and reliable.
• You are skilled with Puppet and Ansible for configuration management.
• You have run and troubleshooted Apache and Tomcat application stacks in production.
• You know PostgreSQL well, including managing, backing up, tuning, and supporting incidents.
• You have operated Ceph storage, handling capacity, performance, and failures.
• You have supported CI/CD and release processes, ideally with GitLab, for both manual and automated workflows.
• You know artifact repositories like Artifactory.
• You have strong automation and scripting skills, mainly with Python.
• You have used and run monitoring and observability tools like Zabbix and Grafana LGTM stack; Elastic Stack knowledge is a plus.
• You have joined on-call rotations, responded to incidents, found root causes, and helped fix issues.
• You understand on-prem networking: VLANs, load balancing, firewalls, and DNS.
• You know about security and compliance in regulated environments, including certificate management, TLS, and audits.
• You have improved and run release and change management in production systems.
• You can create and keep clear operational documents and runbooks for daily work and on-call support.
• You can connect legacy systems with new platform methods without stopping production work.
